The Mercury Alternator Advantage
A high-output alternator keeps electronics running longer. Mercury engines are designed to maintain battery charge even at idle speeds, which is often enough to keep the battery topped up and power standard electronics.
There's also an alternator upgrade kit that’s available for all V8 and V6 FourStroke, Pro XS® and SeaPro™ outboards. It increases max charging output from 85 amps to 115 amps.
